Elizabeth "Betty" Vollenweider, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2017. She was born on July 31, 1930 in Greenwich, CT to the late William
and Virginia Simpson. Betty lived most of her life in Stamford before moving to Milford in 2003. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Carl R. Vollenweider Jr., a brother James Simpson and sadly, many of her lifelong friends. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lori Ferrente of Milford, CT, her son-in-law Angelo, her grandson Shawn Ferrente and her brother Edward (Carol) Simpson of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including her "niece" Michelle. She also leaves behind her close friends, Jean, Jeanne and Cheryl. She will be remembered for many things including her love of collecting dolls, Indian figurines and lighthouses. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bouton and Reynolds Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A funeral service willbe held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Union Memorial Church, 58 Church St.,Stamford. Burial will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park.
