Curtis Todd Whitt of Grand Prairie, Texas- Curtis was born on November 10, 1986 in Arlington, Texas and passed away on Tuesday, August 15 in Denver at the age of 30. Many of Curtis' activities and friends revolved around his church family at CrossPoint Church of Christ, formerly Turnpike Church of Christ. He participated in a variety of programs with his youth group. For ten years he participated in Leadership Training for Christ in speech, Bible bowl, signing for the deaf, chorus, drama and puppets. He enjoyed summer treks to Camp Blue Haven in New Mexico and Camp LuJo. Curtis placed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized on January 1, 1998.
Curtis was good natured, had a great sense of humor, and was fun loving. He was quite fond of pranks and mischievous behavior from the time he could walk--ask his sister. Family and friends were important to him and he enjoyed spending time with both.

Nita and Todd, there are no words of wisdom, but our words of comfort are simply that it's wonderful to know you will be together with Curtis again. While it hurts to be without him, his pain is no more. May the Lord give you the strength you need to live your daily lives to the fullest. May your precious memories of the good times help sustain you. The journey has been hard. Prayers for healing. Love Gary and Rhenea

Todd, Nita, Kayla, & All,
I know that you know the Truth! I know you know of His wonderful Love and Kindness! I know that you're aware that although He's the GREAT I AM, He has time for everything about you and He is your biggest cheerleader! It's the things we don't understand and don't have the knowledge of that makes it so hard. It's those very things that drive us to intimacy with the One who does know. His Word says that His plans are to help and not hurt us; To prepare a place for us where He will be, also; That His children are known for persistance in the right direction, even when we fall; That we will be known as we were known and we will be with Him when we leave the body. One day, we'll know what we can't know now. In the mean time, knowing that Curtis is in THAT knowledge now and it's in the presence of God, dancing, singing, blowing his trumpet ...(I'll bet he'll get to blow it when Jesus returns!!!) is so wonderful! God will help you in the mean time, in those moments of missing Curtis! He just got there first! You'll catch up and he'll be right there to greet you! Big hugs and then he'll be your tour guide, "Come on! You've just GOT to see THIS!!!" as he pulls you along!
I know you have a ministry and God will help you use this to strengthen that ministry. We love you so much and will not stop praying for you!

My prayer with love for Nita, Todd, and family:
When the grief seems more than you can bear,
May the Holy Spirit bless you there
With the same comfort he gave Mary
When the child she loved she had to bury.

No words seem remotely adequate. I am so sorry for your very deep loss. Perhaps knowing so many people are praying that your family be held up in love and light will ease your burden a little. I love you and keep you all in my daily prayers.

As a small child (no pun intended) I grew up as the only kid in the family for many years. When Todd, Nita, Kayla, and Curtis moved to Las Vegas, NV it was like I finally had siblings & playmates, although I was much younger than them. We may be cousins by all standards but I've always felt more like a little sister to both Curtis and Kayla. Especially since the majority of my memories of Curtis are being on the other end of some pretty hilarious pranks; but he was also always there to make me laugh, play endless hours of card games, and was always positive and encouraging. He was a bright light in the world and in our family and he will forever be missed & forever be remember as just that.
