Paul Charles Seewald was born on December 3, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest child of Shirley and the late James Seewald. Paul was raised in metro Detroit, and on April 1, 1989, he married the love of his life, Janet, at St. Suzanne Catholic Church in Detroit.
Paul and Janet settled in Livonia where Paul became an active and beloved member of the community. For the past 15 years, he has been the president of the Livonia Junior Athletic League and was a co-founder of the Michigan Youth Athletic Association. In addition to coaching his children's various sports teams, he coached many of the youth in Livonia.
His love for sports, especially football, was well known, but Paul also was a skilled craftsman who loved the outdoors. Many summers, weekends and holidays were spent with the family up north in Lewiston at the family cottage Paul and his brother built. Countless memories and stories were shared there.
To help provide for his family, Paul worked at Alpha USA in Livonia where he was an extremely proud employee for over four years. Paul enjoyed his position very, very much and was happy to have found a family with those he worked with.
Paul was the cherished husband of Janet for over 28 years and the extremely loving father of Shannon, Danielle and James, beloved son of Shirley and the late James, dear brother of Ellen (the late Ronald) Ortopan, Joanne (Frank) Camiller and James (Mabel). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members, including his dogs Finnegan, Guinness and even Chili.
Paul was a loving, caring and kind man who will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The Seewald family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 3-8 pm, with a Scripture Service at 6:30 pm, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia.
His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10 am, with in state 9:30 am at Divine Child Catholic Church, 1055 North Silvery Lane (west of Telegraph) in Dearborn.

I'm Pauline Combs' sister. I was with Scott and Scotty when the sad news was received. Both were stunned and overwhelmed, in a state of disbelief. Pauline and Briana were told moments later, tears flowed. Clearly their reaction confirmed the depth of caring and love for your entire family. Hearts and prayers were focused on you all. During a pre planned dinner Saturday, Paul was spirited to Heaven, our with glasses high and a toast "May the perpetual light shine upon him". Prayers for comfort and peace.

To all the Seewald family, and especially Ellen (Ortopan) - I was very saddened to learn of Paul's passing, far too young. He was a good man. I was blessed to know Paul from Ladywood theater in the 1980's, where he shared his talents.
I have you in my thoughts and prayers. God give you all strength, and God bless Paul's good soul.

I went to school with Paul's brother Jay, but met up with Paul when he we employed by our local cable company, now Spectrum, formally Bright House Networks, and before that, Time Warner, and MetroVision, where Paul was a manager in the dispatch department. He was a great person, and will be missed by everyone who he came in contact with. I wish I could attend today and pay my last respects, but work will not permit me. Prayers, hugs, and love to the family!

I went to Catholic Central with Paul, Class of '83. Paul above all else was Catholic. He loved God, his family and whatever his mission was at that time in his life, you knew this for the Lord shone through his smile! I haven't seen Paul for several years, but, even now, he brings a smile to my face! May Jesus welcome Paul into an eternity of His joy.

Paul was a warm and funny guy who made my high school years at Ladywood MUCH more memorable. To the whole family, but especially Danielle, I am so sorry that you have to go through this trial. Saying that you're in my thoughts and prayers sounds trite but it's true. Hang in there!

I've had the privilege of working with Paul for the past several years. We used to talk about many things, certainly not always work. I always respected his opinion, and he always ended up bringing a smile to my face. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart. Paul will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
