Billy Joe Roberts, AKA B.J., was born in Graham, TX, on January 30, 1935. He was received in Heaven on August 18, 2017, at the young age of 82. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 2pm at George Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland. Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. He married LaRaina Dawn (Phillips) Roberts and they were married for 60 years. B.J. and family resided in Levelland for most of their lives. B.J. is the son of Clyde Evan Roberts and Willie Faye (Creager) Roberts, and was also the step-son of the late Virgil Harrington. B.J. had three brothers and one surviving sister, Verlene Mowery. B.J. had three sons; Freddie Joe Roberts, Michael L. Roberts, Terry Dean Roberts with two waiting on him in Heaven and one surviving son, Michael L. Roberts and wife Sandra (York) Roberts of Lubbock. He also has one surviving daughter, Ronda Joe Roberts. B.J. and LaRaina also raised a granddaughter, LaShae Marie Roberts, both also of Lubbock. B.J. had 4 grandsons, 6 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren with more on the way. B.J. has many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. B.J. spent most of his life working in the petroleum industry. His passions were working hard, spending time with his family, listening to country and gospel music and watching a good western movie. He loved going to the lake, fishing and spending time with his son listening and watching him play his guitar. Keeping family close to him was important. There is probably not a person he has met that wasn't touched by his respectful and kind heart. He was one of the kindest men anyone could ever meet. A true hero in the eyes of his family and he will be truly missed. We will see you again, DAD.

I am very sorry to learn of B.J.'s passing. he was such a gentleman. I worked for and with him back in the late 70's when he was a tool pusher for Pool Well Service. B.J. was a special person who always tended to see the good in others and offered much support and advice to me as a young man. I pray his family will find peace and comfort in the coming days as he will surely be missed.

Dear Family:
Joe was so proud of each and every one of you for your own unique self.
When he spoke of you it was almost as if he were in awe of the family he helped create. His words about his family were always kind and genuine. You were very fortunate to have him, but he was so proud to have you.
