Helen M. Huskins, 89, of Norwich, passed away on Sunday August 20, 2017. She was born in Johnson City on June 30, 1928 to the late Clarence and Mabel Turner. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in 2014 by her husband of 69 years, Walter R. Huskins. Survivors include her children, Sheila Huskins, and Alan and Kathy Huskins; her grandchildren, Kelly, Christina, Andrea, Stephen, Nathan and Misty; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her cousin, Shirley Riley. Helen worked for many years as a secretary at Norwich Knitting Mills and later as an aide in the x-ray department at Chenango Memorial Hospital. She greatly enjoyed Bible study and gospel music. She was a member of North Norwich Methodist Church for many years. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who took good care of her family through the years, always willing to listen and help talk through a problem. A funeral service for Helen will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich with Pastor Jeremy Stopford officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Oxford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Alan and Shelia so sorry for the loss of you Mother and my sister-in-law.
My brother Ray worshiped your Mother and they had a good life together. Have
no regrets, they always seemed like they were on the same page. My love and
sympathy to all the family. There is nothing like family, so keep in touch.
