Dorothy June Biller Taylor, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 20th, 2017, in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Dorothy was born in Timberville, VA to the late Belmont H. and Mary L. Biller on June 20, 1933.

She married Richard T. "Dick" Taylor on January 23, 1950 in Winchester, VA; they were married for 50 years. Both her husband and son, Richard T. Taylor, II preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and mother who enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing. She had a kind and gentle spirit and possessed a wonderful inner strength.

She was a graduate of Broadway High School in 1950 and would have celebrated her 67th class reunion in September. She was a member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by three children, Arlene S. Fishel, Elon, NC; Kathryn T. Pitts, Rockingham, VA; and Gregory D. Taylor, Harrisonburg, VA; a brother, Henry Biller and wife, Janet, Rockingham, VA; a sister-in law, Janet Thomas and husband, Jimmy, Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jonathan Fishel, and wife Meagan, Burlington, NC; James Fishel, Elon, NC; Courtney Pitts, Keezletown, VA; J.D. Pitts, IV, Hilton Head Island, SC; three great grandchildren; Isaac Fishel, Josiah Fishel, Anna Fishel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her loving caregivers and housemates; Sentara-RMH Hospice; Harrisonburg/Rockingham CSB; the Pastors and Visitation Committee at Harrisonburg Baptist Church, and Dr. Wayne McNett.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Harrisonburg Baptist Church with Dr. Mark D. White officiating. Burial will be at Keezletown Cemetery following the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be given to Harrisonburg Baptist Church, 501 S. Main St., Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
