Christina Hamilton Walker was blessed with a long life and many people who loved her. At age 88, Chris passed away peacefully and surrounded by love and family on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Chris was born in Turtle Creek, PA in December 1928 to John Rodie Hamilton, Sr. and Eleanor Boden Hamilton, joining older sister, Jessie, and later joined by younger siblings, John R. Hamilton, Jr. (Jack) and Eleanor. She married Allan Walker in 1956 and settled in North Versailles, PA where they raised their children, Sean and Colleen. Sorrowfully, she and Allan lost their son, Sean, at the tender age of 13. Chris retired from Westinghouse Air Brake Co./American Standard's Railway Products Division in 1987 after 20+ years of service. When Allan passed away in 2000, Chris moved to Jacksonville, FL with Colleen and her husband, Jim Mitchell. She remained with them for the rest of her life. Chris moved with Colleen and Jim to the Atlanta area in 2015.
Chris was a lover of words, books, music, flowers and most of all, laughter. She will be forever remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She was generous in spirit and a life-long learner. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and her church. Her faith was strong and deep, and she was confident in God's love.
Chris is preceded in death by her husband, Allan; son, Sean; parents, John and Eleanor; sisters, Jessie
Hamilton and Eleanor Brown; parents-in-law, Harry and Erma Walker; brothers-in-law David Walker, Paul Walker, August Supanick, Earl Young, and Frank Supanick, Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Bertha (Cox) Walker, Hope (Walker) Supanick, and Carol (Walker) Young.
Chris is survived by daughter, Colleen; son-in-law, Jim; brother, Jack; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dohn) Hamilton, Virginia (Stufft) Walker and Kathleen (Walker) Supanick; and many nieces and nephews.
