There is a garden where Jesus is waiting and he bid Phoebe Beetler Swain to him on August 15, 2017.
Phoebe was born in Charlestown, Ohio on January 12, 1922 to parents Charles E. and Alice (Richards) Griffith. Phoebe was one of 14 children. She was retired from Robinson Memorial Hospital where she had worked in dietary. Phoebe then worked at Wal-Mart in the garden center. She loved tending her gardens, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. Her doors were always open to anybody at any time. Phoebe loved watching her boys participate in sports and as a women of faith she taught for 50 years at the Child Evangelism Fellowship and attended Crossroads Christian Missionary Alliance in Shalersville. Being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother were most important to her and Phoebe lived her life with strength and dignity.
Phoebe is survived by her children: Pam Genos, Jackie (Bob) Cooper, Claudia (Dick) Thayer, Marsha (Brad) King, Butch (Dawn) Beetler, Sam (Bonnie) Beetler and Nathaniel "Frog" Beetler. She also leaves her 28 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Janie and I were so touched looking through all these photo's.
How short life really is. We never get enough time to tell all those we love how much they are thought of and mean to us.
God Bless dear Aunt Phoebe and all the love she spread throuout her life.

So sorry to hear of Phoebe's home going. I met her in 1982 when she attended the Child Evangelism Fellowship Institute in Warrenton, Missouri when she was 60 years old. I think Phoebe has written me almost every month since then. We only came to Ravenna one time to see her. She was such a delight. I have her number in my cell and we kept in touch. Brought back memories from 1982. I know her family will really miss her. My prayers are with you all.

When I think of my Aunt Phoebe it brings to mind Proverbs 31: 10-31. She was such a humble, Godly woman who inspired everyone, while sharing God's words. She is so blessed to be with God and her Howard and Joel. I pray that the family will be sustained by remembering all the wonderful memories that you will share of your Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother etc. I, have letters from Aunt Phoebe that I keep in my Bible, and still read them. She was such a blessing to me! May God Bless your family.
Love,
Linda Chatfield (Dan & Dot's daughter)

She was truly a woman of faith and grace. I'm so happy for her that she is now receiving her reward in heaven with Jesus. She impacted many lives for the Kingdom and was always kind and loving. Know that Chuck and I are praying for you as you reminisce the many stories that made her 'Mom" and "Grandma." We pray that as you remember, through the laughter, and tears, your own person journey of working through your loss will begin.

I met Phoebe in 1982 in Missouri as we took Child Evangelism Fellowship training together. What a wonderful person. She was placed there to be an example to all of us who came for training. She was 60 at the time. She loved her own children and the children of the world and wanted them all to come to know Jesus. She was a prayer warrior. You knew if you asked her to pray, she would do that. She kept in touch over the years and even visited me in Virginia. I will miss that prayer influence. I hope all of her children, grandchildren, and greats know how much she loved you and kept you in prayer. She will certainly be missed. Much love to all.

Aunt Phoebe was always a fun person to be with. When I would visit my cousins as a child, we had a lot of laughs. She never got upset about the small stuff. She was my Sunday School teacher. What I still remember at age 74 is the way she taught me the four books: "Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, hold the horse while I jump on." When I learned that, she gave me a silver dollar, which I still have. She and my Mom were like sisters, instead of sisters-in-law. I can still hear both of them giggling together. Aunt Phoebe is in heaven now with so many friends and family. I know that God smiled at her and said," a job well done." Be at peace Aunt Phoebe, I love you." Joan Marie. (She always called me by my full name.) Her children can be at peace as well. They showed her unconditional love. This is one of those, "no do overs in life," and they got it right the first time. God bless them all.
