Marion J. Doherty, 82, of Richmond, passed away August 20. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Algot and Hennie Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John T. Doherty, son, John Eric Doherty and his wife Tracey; three grandchildren, Julia, Katy, and Brendan, and sister-in-law, Mary Alice Wilkin. She was a graduate of State University, Class of 1955, in Oswego, NY and a member of Alpha Delta sorority. She taught elementary school in Huntington, Long Island, NY and Kensington, MD. She was a member of Salisbury Country Club where she was employed from 1967 to 1998. From 1986 to the present, she loved to play tennis on club teams. She loved the ocean beaches, Charleston, SC, and gardening at home. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, August 29 at 11 am at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA.
