William H. "Bill" Hoffmeier, 90, of rural Ossian passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was born on April 12, 1927, a son of the late William and Erna (Heinig) Hoffmeier. He served in the U.S. Army. He started his work career with Paul Huth Construction, and in 1968, he started Hoffmeier Builders, managing his own business until retirement. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Ossian. He enjoyed spending time gardening and being with family. Surviving family include his wife, Adelia Hoffmeier; children, Jeffrey (Amy) Hoffmeier, Terry (Annie) Hoffmeier, Sandra (Allen) Franz, Alice (Doug) Gosnell; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at New Hope Lutheran Church, 8824 N State Road 1, Ossian with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 2-5 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Inurnment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, Tocsin. Memorials may be made to Family Life Care.
