Jack was born on June 28th, 1954, in Cooter, Missouri to William C. and Ida Jones. He graduated from Gibson High School, Gibson, Tennessee in 1972. Jack was an accomplished golfer and from his early 20s through his late 40s often played a great scratch game. Jack was an individual who loved teasing his family and friends and who was passionate about fishing (as long as he got to sit in the front of the boat). He was, for many years, an active and dedicated member of the Elks Lodge in Corinth, Mississippi and often volunteered at many of the Elk fundraisers.
