Charles Page Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 25, 2017.

Charles Lee Page was born on August 11, 1966 in San Francisco California; He was born to Clarence Page Jr., and Connie Marie Page. Charles, aka Chuckie, was preceded in death by his mother, Connie. Chuckie was the 3rd of five children. He lived in Marin City California until the age of 5, when his family relocated to Novato California.

Chuckie attended Richardson Bay elementary and middle school. After graduating from middle school, he attended Branson High and San Marin High, where he graduated. He then went on to attend San Jose State University.

Chuckie had two beautiful children, Charles Lee Page Jr., and Gwendolyn Marie Page. He loved them dearly. He rarely missed a birthday, cheer competition, dance competition, or any other important day in his kids' lives. He couldn't have been more proud of his babies and bragged about them often.

Chuckie loved his family and friends and had a special place in his heart for babies. Chuckie loved to tease, play, and joke around with everyone. He was the friend and cousin that would come pick you up from wherever you were, at any time of the night or early morning, without judging you for something you probably shouldn't be doing. He would remember the important dates in your life and would always reach out and acknowledge it. He was the brother many would love to have. An example of Chuckie's kindness and compassion, was when his good friend wrecked his motorcycle. Chuckie showed up to the hospital with genuine concerned for his friend's safety and wellbeing. He was not concerned about the bike at all. Chuck told his friend not to worry about the wrecked bike, he was just happy that he was doing okay; the bike was just a material thing. Chuckie, like his mother Connie, never judged you and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. He was a good listener, gave great advice and loved you for who you were. He was always the mediator in fights and disagreements. He wasn't one for confrontation or dissension. Once you met Chuckie, you had a friend for life. He was loved by everyone.

Chuckie loved to play golf, loved to spend time with his kids and his family, loved to ride his motorcycle with his brothers, was a huge fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Boston Celtics, and the SF Giants. He loved to read, especially Stephen King horror stories, and loved horror and sci fi movies.

Not only was Chuckie a dedicated family man, but he was also a dedicated employee and hard worker. Chuckie was employed with Brinks for 26 years. As a result of his job, he gained the love, respect, and friendship of numerous co-workers and vendors, whose money he would pick-up weekly; some there were an extended family to him.

Chuckie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, Chuckie and Gwen Page, his father Clarence (June) Page Jr., his brothers Clarence (Clay) Page III (Sister-in-law Carolyn) and Darren Page; his sisters, Meloni Gail Page, and Maude Akognon, and a HUGE host of, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

I have known Chuckie my whole life, but I hadn't seen a lot of him in the past 20 years because I had moved away from Marin County. In recent years, Chuckie was one of my best hometown supporters! For the past five or so years, I have been doing spoken-word performances and workshops when I come home to Marin City. He never missed an event, except the one time he was sick, and he let me know he wouldn't be able to make it. He always sat front and center and was fully present. He was truly soaking up the info every time. He left me with some wonderful, heartfelt words about my work, which touched me deeply because he was so quiet at the events all the time, so I never knew what he thought about them. He was also a subscriber to my self-help newsletter, one of the first to sign up. I will never forget his support and loyalty, and I will miss his spirit and sweet smile. Thank you, Chuckie. Rest well. See you again when it's time.

Chuck was our beloved Brinks guy, he never neglected to make everyone here at RH laugh, while coming by on his weekly drop ins. I cant say enough how wonderful, kind, and he was and how much he will be missed. Sending love to his family... he truly was a wonderful person to everyone he came in contact with. Thank you Chuck for sharing your spirit, and loving personality with us:)

I'm so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. While I haven't seen Chuck in quite some time, I have fond memories of going to concerts back in the mid-80s to see Rock Master Scott and the Dynamic 3, Too Short, Lakeside and others at the Henry J. Kaiser Auditorium in Oakland and the Oakland Coliseum. Chuck was always easy going, a joy to be around and a gentleman. My heartfelt prayers for his children and family.

There are no words that can efficiently express the heartfelt loss of a love one. One thing is certain and that is memories can never be erased. Every time I ran into Chuckie while he was working for the armored truck service I wanted so badly to hug him but was afraid his co-workers would think I was making an inappropriate move and would shoot first and ask questions later. His smile was infectious and his heart was large. May the Lord give you all peace that is beyond all understanding. My love and thoughts are with you. Ida

To the Page Family: You and the Jones Family are like my other family. From grade school on, the bonds have always been there and always will be. This picture of Chuckie looks exactly like Connie! As heartbroken as we all are, we know that he's in the loving comfort and care of his mother, grandma Dot and other relatives. RIP Chuckie; you will be missed!

On the day I was told of your passing I broke down I was in a place I never thought I would be and the realization that we would never go to another motor cycle show or race or that I would never experience your quirky sense of humor. You were at my house just the previous Saturday and when Clay told me I just couldn't grasp it, it still tears me up and probably always will like most we are selfish and want good things to remain the same forever, but God saw fit to call you home. So I just say our childhood friendship which grew and remained in adulthood and is and always will be embedded in my heart forever just know this Chuckie I will always love and keep you with me REST IN GOD and enjoy the eternal peace you now share with God... LOVE YOU MAN

Dear Page Family,

I am truly saddened by your lost. I think often of the memories we shared growing up in Marin City. Your family is resilient, god-fearing, and most importantly, loving and kind. Chuckie was a dedicated father, son, and brother. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly. We love you all very much.

Sheri Murphy and Family.

True friendship is an oddity in the era of social media. Many of us have accumulated a plethora of "friends" through our various social media outlets, but I can unequivocally say that Charles Lee Page was truly my friend. Growing up in a place like Marin City it's hard to determine when and how someone became your friend. Chuck and I went to elementary and middle school together and we were always friendly towards one another, but our brotherly bond was solidified during the summer of 1984. My cousin Darron Thompson and I had just completed our freshman year of college and Chuck was preparing for his. We "hung hard" the summer of 84. We, like most of Marin City went to the Rafael theater to see Purple Rain on opening night. Unlike the rest of our beloved community, Darron, Chuckie and I returned the following day and stayed... all day and watched Purple Rain ... all day. The three of us coined ourselves RAD DMC (Darron, Marty and Chuckie). Over the years we remained close we were groomsmen in each other's weddings, we tried to get together when ever I came to town and when he traveled to Los Angeles. I could go on and on about Chuck's keen sense of humor, love for humanity and the calming way he could stabilize chaotic situations.

To the Jones and Page families I offer my heartfelt condolences.

To my true friend Chuckie. I say rest well my friend. I love you Man.

I seen you 3 weeks ago, we hugged and I said we've to get out there and play some GOLF soon before the summer ends. I told him the last time I played was when we went out to Blue Rock golf course with Darnell C. Roary and Aaron Edwards. I didn't know that would be the last time I played Golf was with you. I didn't know that day at CVS would be the last time I see you alive. I'm Heartbroken. You were my teammate baseball, basketball, football. You were my schoolmate all the way through til 8th. You going to San Marin and I went to Tam. I Love you like a Brother. I will miss you. I will miss the only Bengals fan I've ever known in my life.

Wow Cuz, so many things I've thought about doing but this never crossed my mind. Although we didn't see or speak to each other often, it was always warm and welcoming when to be in your presence. To me that's family. You will forever be in our hearts and memories as someone with charm, humor, character, responsibility and respect. To me that's a man. As you have transitioned to your spiritual form, I say I will miss you, love you and pray for your legacy while you enjoy paradise.
