Helen S. Dickens of Waynesboro, VA passed away on August 24, 2017 at UVA Medical Center.
Born December 23, 1929 in Danville, VA she was the daughter of the late Dewey O. and Margaret (Saunders) Scism.
Helen was raised in Danville, VA and graduated from Schoolfield High School. She was employed by the City of Waynesboro where she worked as the Deputy Clerk of Council and later worked as the Office Manager at the Family Counseling Services. She was a long time member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren R. Dickens.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey S. Dickens of Waynesboro; sister, Sandra S. Reynolds and husband, Tommy of Midlothian, VA; niece, Teresa Reynolds and family and nephew, Randy Reynolds and family, all of Midlothian, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Main Street United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
