Pamela Jo Pyles Stewart, age 56, passed away on August 26, 2017 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte after a prolonged illness.
Pam was born on October 24, 1960 to Virgil and Rheba Pyles in Tallahassee, Florida. She moved to Clemmons, NC on August 26, 1996. She called both Clemmons and Tallahassee home.
She loved her children and grandchildren and was always thinking of something she could make for them. Pam was a master at crochet and needlework, and loved doing stained glass. She also loved gardening, and was named Forsyth County Cooperative Extension master Gardener of the Year in 2006.
Pam loved animals. She would spend her spare time volunteering for and animal rehab in Tallahassee and Clemmons when she could.
Pam was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church. She loved Jesus, had a heart for missions, and adored sharing Jesus with others. Her favorite mission trip was to Romania. As Pam became sicker, she started making cross bookmarks that she gave to anyone she met in the hospital. The "cross lady" became well known for the crosses she gave out, along with her kind, feisty, and humorous personality.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Kyle Stewart. Pam leaves behind her loving husband, George Stewart; daughters, Tara Clark (Kevin) Hunt and Jessica Stewart; grandchildren, Madison Clark, Julian Hunt, Remington Hunt; four-legged children, Toby, Chief Thunder Paws, Jasper, and Nigel; siblings, Rheba Oyler, Laura Pyles, and Thomas Ritter, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, September 1st from 5-8pm at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home Clemmons Chapel, 2849 Middlebrook Dr. The funeral service will be Saturday at 3pm at Clemmons UMC, 3700 Clemmons Rd, with Reverend Paula Northrup officiating. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
Flowers will be accepted and memorial contributions can be made to Twisted Whisker Farm Sanctuary, PO Box 422, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.

Pam was always very kind, and certainly devoted to her family as well as God's creatures. I remember many years ago in Tallahassee when she introduced me to a possum she was nursing back to health. That was just amazing. She was an amazing woman who overcame many difficulties. I'm sorry distance kept us from interacting more.

Babe, I can only imagine the joy, happiness, and freedom you are experiencing right now. To be in God's presence, and to praise Him for His goodness and mercy.
Well, I'd be lying to say I don't miss you, because I do. But don't worry (if such a thing is possible in heaven) because you taught me well and I haven't forgotten. We won't miss a beat, but will honor your name by our deeds and actions. Toby and the cats miss you, but I think they are figuring it out.
I love you, and always will.
You are my sunshine!

George and Family,
Darlene and I will continue to pray for you and your family. Our prayer is that Gods supernatural peace that surpasses all understand will encompass each family member and friend. We are asking our Lord Jesus to illuminate Himself to all that attend Pam's service.
I know that Saturday will be a bitter sweet day. Very bitter in the sense of your devastating loss. Life has abruptly been altered for your family. But know Pam home Going has not taken the Lord by surprise.
Your remembrance of Pam on Saturday will also be sweet. Sweet in the sense that for those who know Jesus, as Pam did, there is no sting of death, only eternal life.
Gods promise to us is that He has prepared a room in a mansion for those who put their trust in His son Jesus. He has also has come and received Pam to himself.
Today Pam Is dancing on the streets of gold, she has a glorified body, free from any physical pain and she is worshipping Jesus in the throne room of God, worshipping in spirit and in truth. Pam's worship participation is Pure, Holy and in His righteousness.
Saturday, also remember the blessings and the wonderful gift of family over the past many years.
There were precious times of Love and Laughter. There were fun times when the kids were small and life was not so complicated.
I know about some of these times personally; all our kids running around together while the adults were stuffing their faces with Pam's southern cooking and most appreciated hospitality.
Your family will always be in our hearts. One day not too many years from now, we will all be together again in a place called heaven.
It is Christ's wonderful Grace that drew us together and it by His Grace that we will live together for all eternity.
May the Lord place His hand upon you, guide you and strengthen you in your continuing journey of life.
Love you Stewart family,
Mike and Darlene Schueler
