Ruth Gorman (Ramos), age 79, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017. She was the wife of the late James Gorman and longtime companion of the late Mark Marchant.
Born in New Bedford, MA the daughter of the late Edward Ramos and the late Elizabeth Boudreau she spent much of her life in New Bedford/Wareham before relocating to Fall River.
She worked as a computer technologist before her retirement in 1999. An active woman, she enjoyed golf, painting, crochet, knitting and was a skilled gardener and cook.
She is survived by her six children, Ruth Lynne Clay (Stephen), James Gorman, Beth Mortenson (Russ), Debra Socia (Robert O'Connor), Christine Maiorisi (Stephen) and Bonnie Mello (Curt); thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Liz Wright.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Century House, 107 S. Main St., Acushnet, MA. Contributions may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701. For information and tributes, www.waring-sullivan.com.
