Donald "Don" Raymond Allen, 71, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 1 PM in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas with Pastor Tim Franks, Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the funeral home.
Don was born October 16, 1945 in Windom, Texas to John Thomas and Julia Alberta (Blackwood) Allen. He married the love of his life, Shirley Hanson, on November 5, 1966 in Electra, Texas. He worked for the W.T. Waggoner Estate and retired in 2008 after 30 years of service. Don enjoyed fishing and reading, and was proudest of his children and grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Shirley Allen of Iowa Park, Texas; son, Ronald Dale Allen and his wife, Heather; son, Tommy James Allen and his wife, Hope; daughter, Leona Russell and her husband, Paul; son, Ken Allen; eight granddaughters; five grandsons; three great granddaughters; and two great grandsons.
The family suggests memorials to be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
