Douglas A Kremer, age 63 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Kremer. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ann Kremer, and two children: Steve Shaw of Bellbrook and Theresa Shaw and husband Mike Gomez of Austin, Texas. He adored his five grandchildren: Cameron Berry, Joshua Berry, Chloe Shaw, Kai Gomez and Laila Gomez. He is also survived by his mother, Rita Kremer of Beavercreek, and was the youngest of a large family of brothers and sisters: Dale Kremer of Beavercreek, Russell and wife Vicki Kremer of Nevada, Gary and wife Judy Kremer of Dayton, Judy and husband Doug Thompkins of North Carolina, and Debbie Kremer and David Finke of South Carolina, and had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was the owner of K&G Bike Center, starting the business in 1974 in Kettering, and expanding it to include locations in Centerville and Xenia. He regarded his K&G team as part of his family, and countless customers and suppliers as friends over the years. Doug's favorite place to go was Norris Lake, whether relaxing and boating with family and friends, or treasuring the serenity of it alone with his wife. He had a strong passion for sports, was an avid Flyers and Buckeyes fan, and forever a Browns fan. Doug was a fierce yet fun competitor, and loved to win when playing cards, board games, trivia, and fantasy sports. He relaxed alone doing mental challenges like Sudoku, puzzles, and brain teasers. Always by his side was his loyal dog, most recently his beloved Beagle/Lab mix named Soda Pop. Friends may come to the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432 on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 5-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr. Kettering, OH 45420 at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 7. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made in Doug's name to the Craig Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation unit, where Doug was treated many years ago, at craighospital.org. Interment will be held privately at David's Cemetery. Condolences can be made to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

I was extremely saddened to hear about Doug's passing. I met him at Research Park where we rode the Ergys bike. Later in life Doug and I had the opportunity to share our sci experiences with medical students at Wright State. We always had a lot to talk about and we laughed because we never took our disabilities too seriously. He was a great guy with an immense amount of determination and strength. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I met Doug through the WSU Research Program where we rode the ERGYS bikes. We stayed in touch when I moved to Atlanta and when I came to visit my parents, I always stopped by the Kettering Bike Shop and purchased gloves...they worked great for pushing wheelchairs. I am so sorry for your loss and will always remember the energetic young guy I met almost 30 years ago.

I only had the privelege of hanging with Doug on a very few and brief occasions (through my brother, Rik Crouch). Nevertheless, I felt that we were true and instant friends. A more welcoming sole you would be hard-pressed to meet. It's just how he made you feel. He, and those who knew him, were blessed in many ways. RIP, my friend. I will miss you.
