Edna Earnestine Roop, born November 27, 1928 in Budd, WV, went to be with her Lord while surrounded by family on August 31, 2017 at her home in Stafford County.
On December 24, 1946 Edna Earnestine Lester married Keith Arlington Roop. After settling into Stafford County, Mrs. Roop worked for Goodwin House Retirement Community in Alexandria for many years, before retiring. Keith and Edna have attended the Stafford Church of God faithfully since the early nineties.
Mrs. Roop was preceded in death by Grandson, James Lewis Harrison, Jr.
Survivors include her husband Keith Roop; children Stephen Roop (Yong), Stanley Roop (Deborah), Cheryl Harrison (James), Michael Roop (Connie); Grandchildren Chad, Sean, Dale, Stanley Jr., Christopher, Michelle, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Candice and Victoria; Mrs. Roop has many Great-Grandchildren.
Anyone who ever came in contact with Edna, knew what a beautiful soul she has. If you ever saw her, she was smiling and laughing, singing and dancing, and above all, caring for her family. She would frequent the beach every summer, and she was always sure to protect her hair, as her stylist, Judith Lee, took such good care of it for her, she would never get it wet or allow the wind to blow through it.
Mrs. Roop has always been so full of life and love, and her family would love to share this moment with anyone who was blessed to meet her at her viewing on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 6-8PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11 AM at the Stafford Church of God, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, family is asking that you instead send a donation to the Stafford Church of God.

An Angel of God has just entered her Heavenly home. We can only imagine the joy she is experiencing!
We always saw a smile on Edna's face and upon meeting her for the first time we were amazed at the love of her family for her and the love she gave and received from so many others. She loved getting those hugs!
RIP dearest friend. We will see you again on the Other Side in Heaven where there is no more pain, parting or sorrow.

We have such fond & loving memories of Edna. She was always gracious, smiling & friendly. Another word that comes to mind is faithful. She always attended Sunday School & Worship Service occupying the last pew in the sanctuary with her husband, son & daughter-in-law.
As her obituary states, I never remember Edna having a hair out-of-place. It was such a pleasure to be her pastor & friend and we send our deepest condolences to Keith & the family. We will see you again sweet & kind daughter of God. We will see you again in our heavenly home.
