Walter F. Javor age 95 of Clinton, CT passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was born in Edmond, RI on September 12, 1921 to his parents, K. (Kazimir) Richard and Blanche (Sowenska) Javor of Montville, CT. He was predeceased by his wives Anna (Brooks) Javor and Gloria (Voets) Javor. He was a 1939 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. He was a World War II veteran who enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in the European Theater. He rose to the rank of Captain and retired from the Air Force National Guard with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He worked for 36 years at the former SNET (now AT&T) as an engineer. He was a friend to many; he enjoyed boating, playing golf, and spending time with his family. He was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Women's Basketball. He is survived by his brother, Edward Javor of Uncasville, CT, sons, David and Paul Javor of Deep River, CT and Warren, VT respectively, daughters, Nancy Javor and Mary Beth Oakes of Clinton, CT. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tim Oakes, Elisabeth Oakes, Kevin Javor, Caitlin (Javor) Rivera, Ryan Javor, Anna Javor, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother Stan Javor of Warwick, RI, his sisters Mary (Javor) Orris of Quaker Hill, CT, and Margie (Javor) Armband of New London, CT. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Clinton, CT and was a honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus 6376 for 75 years. As well as a honorary life 4th degree of assembly 110 for 70 years. A special "Thank You" to all his caregivers for all their care, comfort, and compassion. There will be a viewing Saturday, September 9th at Swan's Funeral Home from 8am-10am at 80 East Main Street in Clinton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Church on Grove Street in Clinton at 11am. He will be interred with full military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery on Beach Park Road, Clinton.
