Barbara L. Weatherford, 99, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

She was born on August 2, 1918 at Lively, WV to Charles Snowdon and Maggie Thompson Lively.



Barbara was an active member of Fayetteville Baptist Church for over 60 years. She cared for children in her home during her earlier years.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Merle Weatherford; brothers: Otto, Earl, Basil and Zenis Lively; and by her sisters: Effie Wriston, Thelma Wilson and Madge Pritt.



She is survived by one son, Charles S. Weatherford and his wife, Mary K. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Mendy Haver and husband, Doug, Sib Weatherford and wife, Lauren, and John Weatherford and wife, Monica. Also, she leaves behind five great-grandchildren that she loved dearly: MacKenzie, Noah, Jenna, Jill and Emma.



Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Fayetteville Baptist Church with Rev. David Sneed and Rev. Ron George, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.



The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 am to noon at the church.



In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Barbara’s memory be made to Fayetteville Food Pantry, PO Box 33, Fayetteville, WV 25840.

Barbara was so very special to me. We lived on Lindberg Ave and she became my mentor, my advisor, my flower bed planner, recipe sharer, my go to person, and most of all my dear dear friend. I love you Barbara and will miss you. Midge and family, many memories will keep you going. Linda Hess

Patty Ann Lively

The last of Dad's siblings, has passed away @ 99 years. Now, those born in that "Lively" generation are all gone. Thoughts & prayers are with our West Virginia family. She had many stories of growing up at the Lively Homestead.
