Reginald Courtleigh Wallace was born on July 29, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas, to the late Spurgeon N. Wallace, Sr., and Priscilla Dumas Wallace. He was preceded in death by his brother, Spurgeon N. Wallace, Jr. On October 6, 1990, Reginald married Angeleni "Angie" Delaney, and although no children were born to their union, Reginald loved children and they were drawn to him both in the family and in church.
He graduated from Kelly High School in 1973, and attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas. After college and a stint of working at a chemical plant, Reginald returned to his earthly hometown to continue working in the service station industry, first alongside his father, and later in partnership with his brothers, carrying on the legacy of his father and establishing himself as a local businessman for more than 30 years. As a member of The Church at Lake Charles, he attended services faithfully and was an usher, was on the fund-raising committee, and was part of the offering counting team.
Reginald was a kind-hearted soul, and where ever he went, people from all walks of life were easily drawn to his smile, kindness, cheerfulness, and patience. He was always willing to hold a conversation with anyone, and touched all generations of people with whom he came into contact.
And though we know the Lord gives and takes away, and His name is to be praised, we were shocked and saddened when Reginald simply said "I'm tired," and the Lord, using natural causes, suddenly called him home on September 2, 2017.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife; three brothers, Wayne C. Wallace (Melca) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barron F. Wallace (Lisa), and Stephen N. Wallace (Damita), both of Houston, Texas; two aunts who assisted in raising him, Dorothy Dumas Green (Credell) of Seattle, Washington, and Martha Dumas Carmen of Beaumont, Texas; nine nephews, three nieces, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, as well as his church family.

Prayers for the Wallace Family. Many times I've gotten gas at Kroger, Mr. Wallace was such a respectful, helpful, and patient individual. Purchased gas today and noticed the remembrance card on the cashier's window. I had no idea Mr. Wallace had passed on. Continued prayers for the family. God bless!

Bro.Reginald's passing has an affect on me like the affect my dad's passing had on me...not so much of the weeping but that longing for something special that is now gone.He was truly like a big brother amongst those in our church family. He always had a welcoming smile and a genuine attitude. He loved his wife and he loved people and it wasn't something you wondered, it's something you were sure of because true love speaks for itself. He will be greatly missed for so many wonderful reasons and just for being REAL. We love you Bro.Reginald and we look forward to seeing you again one day soon.
Much love and prayers to our dear Sis.Angela and the Wallace family and all who have been affected by this departure.

Reggie, I am fortunate to have known you for so many years. We grew up together, and I can see those remarkable memories in my mind's eye
You are one of the best people I've ever known.
I'm sorry we didn't have opportunities to connect as much in our adult years. But surely we'll meet again on the other side. Blessings prayed for you.
