BETSEY OLSON

Traci, I only heard of Rick's passing yesterday. I'm so sorry. I often think about the old days on Bramblewood with the kids all growing up together and now we are having to say goodbye. It was a pleasure being your next door neighbor for 15 years. Please give our sincere condolences to your family.

Most sincerely,

Our condolences to the entire Alley family.

My wife and I are friends of Travis' in Cleveland. We didn't know Mr. Alley, but he sounds like an amazing, well-respected man, who worked hard to help people in their dealings with the legal system.

We do know Travis well. He is an honorable, faithful friend, a great husband to Felicia, and he is working hard to make his community better. He is continuing the legacy of his father, and in that way, Mr. Alley and his influence live on in the world.

Rick was a good friend, a brilliant legal mind, and a valued trial partner to me on more than one occasion. God bless him and God bless his family.

September 13, 2017

Though I met Rick only a few times when he assisted his wife, Traci, at elementary school events, I knew him to be kind, considerate, giving, and undoubtedly a devoted husband.

My prayers have been with you since we first heard of your great loss, Traci; and they will continue throughout the coming months.

May you feel the love of God through the many caring expressions of friends and family.

Love always,

Rick is one of the most brilliant criminal attorneys I have ever worked with. He authored the appeal or appealed and then authored some of the most landmark cases in Texas--several are taught in law schools. But more than his intelligence, he was just a great guy, very down to earth, and a good friend to all. I don't know anyone who did not like Rick Alley.

I am so saddened to learn of Rick's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him over the past 25+ years from the courthouse. He always came into court with a smile and was such a kind man. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this most difficult time.

Rick, I did not know you well, but what do I know is you are a kind spirit. One who took my daughter into your family with open arms. You and Traci are in my prayers. I can truly say that we are inlaws with the marrige of our children, but our love for each of our children made us family. I love you, and Traci, god bless you both, in heaven and on earth.

Such a great loss. I send my love to his beautiful family. Rick was always there for me with any legal question and willing to help me anytime I called. Helped me navigate federal court and was always there to lift me up and calm my nerves when I was panicking. Feeling sad that I could not be there for him as he was for me. I pray he knows how thankful I am for his support. He was a true giver and will be sadly missed.
