Carolyn Robinett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 9, 2017.

Carolyn E. Robinett, 87, of Gladstone, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 9, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, at 10:00 am at D. W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chape l, 6600 NE Antioch, Gladstone, MO, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 am immediately preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Luke’s Hospice House, 3516 Summit St., Kansas City, MO 64111.

Carolyn was born on March 27, 1930 in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Beth Danielsen; her husband of 61 years, Thomas Robinett; granddaughter, Lauren Robinett, and grandson, Sean Robinett. Carolyn is survived by her children: Tom, Jr. and Marnie Robinett; Bob and Linda Robinett; and Larry and Bev Robinett; grandchildren: Heather Pappert (Doug), Doug Robinett (Ellen), Julie Carlberg (Joel), Megan Robinett, Angie Rice (Dan), Stefanie Egan (Brian), and Daniel Meier (Kristine); and 15 great grandchildren.

After graduating from Westport High School in 1947, Carolyn soon began a career as a busy and loving mother, while finding time to work as a court reporting transcriber and then retiring after 25 years as an Executive Secretary at Farmland Industries. Carolyn will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife, wonderful and caring mother, Cub Scout leader, sometimes referee (she did raise three boys) and a great source of inspiration, help, support and fun. She and Dad loved spending time with their friends, the “Group,” whether it was just a weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks or traveling to Hawaii and Europe. Raising three sons, she had little choice but to be a sports fan, supporting everything from little league baseball to the Chiefs, Jayhawks and golf. We all deeply loved and respected Mom and will greatly miss her.

The family also wants to extend our thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s North and Plaza Hospitals and, especially, those at St. Luke’s Hospice House for the care, comfort and respect they gave her and all of us in these last few days before she left to be with her beloved husband.
