Dorothy Belle "Dot" Lang, age 95 died at Clear Creek Care Center on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017.
Born July 1, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana, to Fred & Blanche Grunert. She graduated from high school in 1940 and continued her education at Indiana University and Norte Dame, which led to her war time job at Bendix Aviation Corporation.
After the death of her first husband Howard Hans in WWII 1943 Dot enlisted in the Navy as a Wave from 1943-1946.
In April 1947 she married Richard Lang and was happily married for 53 years till his death in 2000.
The family moved to Boulder in 1961, where Dot started her creative stitching. She was a member of the Embroider's Guild of America and Friends of Counted embroidery. Dot started many small stitching groups which are still active today.
She was a avid bowler and swimmer and a Girl Scout leader for 9 years, followed by her volunteering and activities at St Paul's UMC church where she was a lay leader.
Dot is survived by her two daughters Kristien Hill and Johanna Lang of Arvada, grandson Quinn (Michelle) Hill, Sean Hill who proceed her in death 2010 (Jennifer) of Wheat Ridge and four grandchildren Chloe, Owen, Emma and Colin.
Services will be September 16th at 11AM at St Paul's UMC in Boulder. Burial will be held in private. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and there will be a small reception at the church following the service.
