Sister Teresita Partin, C.V.I., died on Sunday, September 10, 2017. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 28, 1919, the daughter of Mary Doyal Partin and Joseph C. Partin. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy, St. Joseph Hospital as an R.N. She entered the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, Houston, TX. She professed perpetual vows on June 6, 1946. She received her B.S. and M.Ed. Degrees from the University of Houston and an Ed.D. Degree from Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.
Sister was an educator and served in a number of Catholic elementary schools within the Archdiocese. She became one of the first diocesan school supervisor. Her desire to help others led her to serve in Job Corps and at All Saints Parish as the Coordinator of Social Services. From there, she became the first Director of the Office of Aging for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston from which many helpful and caring ministries evolved. She also assisted with the organization of the Texas Catholic Committee on Aging.
Through the years, Sister has received many recognitions for her ministry from government and church agencies. In her retirement years, she developed an impressive congregational heritage collection. Her many talents were always used in the service of others.
A favorite scripture of Sister's was, "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." Indeed God did choose her. In her 97 years of life, she generously used her gifts and talents wherever she was asked to serve, either within the Congregation or in her many other ministries. Well done, good and faithful servant!
Sr. Teresita was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a number of cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 13 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., followed by the Wake Service at Incarnate Word Convent, 3400 Bradford Street, Houston, TX. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the convent chapel with Rev. John Boscoe, CSB, celebrant. Rite of Committal will be in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

ANOTHER WARRIOR GONE HOME
One never knows when the call from Havn
Coms forth to bring a loved one home.
We're never ready
With heart broken, the tears so easily come
Jesus needed a lovely rose
In His garden there
And He called for a special one, named Teresita
So kind, friendly, and fair.
It's the friends and loved ones lft behind that carry a sad heart
Because they will so miss the one who was such a blessing
And wasn't ready for her to depart.
Blut one day, we'll see Sr Teresita again
Time will not be limited, \so we'll all tell how we made iy in...
And how many souls she won to Christ
In her serving him.
I came to know Sister Teresita through her and Sr. Dorothy being a part of our Ukulele Band, The Sugar Sticks. They both were so very helpful and ready to help meet any need we may have had. SThey both always were so special in remembering any occasion that came in remembrance of me as the director of the band. It made being around them such a blessing. I'm sure the Convent is feeling a great void at this time and will miss Sr. Teresita and Sr. Dorothy so very much, along with those of us who received their greatfulness of heart.
To know them bot, was a blessing.

It has been a pleasure knowing Sr. Teresita for the many years that I have worked here at St. Dominic Center with great people as this Sister. God be with her and I know that she is smiling down on us. Karen Cavazos
