IMOGENE FITCH, 95, of Mt. Erie, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Way-Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
Imogene was born January 19, 1922 in Mt. Erie, Illinois to George and Maude (Paul) Fout. She married Eldo Fitch January 21, 1950 in Mt. Erie, Illinois and he preceded her in death in 1958.
Imogene was a retired line worker for Champion Lab at West Salem, IL. She was a member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church at Fairfield, Illinois and played the piano for church for many years. She was a seamstress and enjoyed making quilts and giving them away and also loved to watch wrestling.
Imogene is survived by two daughters Carolyn (Dale) Smith of Belleville, Illinois and Paula Fitch and life partner Richard Grob of Hescher, Illinois; two sons Charlie Fitch of Mt. Erie, Illinois and Lawrence (Debbie) Fitch of Flora, Illinois. Four grandsons Darnell Smith of Belleville, Illinois, Jeremy Fitch of Flora, Illinois, Dustin Zimmerman of Flora, Illinois and Jason (Jenna) Zimmerman of Effingham, Illinois and one great grandson Brady Zimmerman of Effingham, Illinois. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding her in death were one daughter Brenda, three brothers, Henry, Carrol, and Fred, two sisters, Minnie and Georgia, her husband and parents.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Feed My People at Fairfield, Illinois and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
