Music is a part of our lives from the moment we enter the world until the moment we leave it. An avid listener of "Big Band" music and a musician in his own right, Robert C. Villio died peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years young. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Jules Villio and Grace Montelepre Villio; and sister Jean. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Harlene Ploger Villio. He was a devoted father to his sons Robert C. Villio, Jr. and his wife, Brenda; Ray Villio and his wife, Priscilla; and daughter Deborah Villio. He was Paw Paw to his four grandchildren, Rachel Tabony and her husband, John; Matthew Villio and his wife, Julie; Jill Villio and Robert C. Villio, III; and Grand Paw Paw to Addison, John and Parker Tabony and Caroline Villio. He was also "Dad" to Antoinette Mastrangelo, mother of Rachel and Robbie.
Robert graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School where he met and went on to marry his high school sweetheart Harlene. He served in the U. S. Navy and was honorably discharged. After retirement, Robert spent the last couple of decades of his life playing music, both clarinet and saxophone, in the Ken Veca Big Band, the American Legion Post 175 Band, and the Jefferson Community Band. He loved bringing joy through music to seniors at local senior care facilities and special events.

To the Family of Bob Villio
John and I (Carol) will never forget his beautiful music.
Bob played at our wedding 54 years ago. He charged $5 for each band member what a bargain.

We loved Bob. He was a business partner with my father and was like a father to me at work. He told my father he had to pay me a salary at least minimum wage. He helped us buy our furniture when I got married. He was a great mentor to me. We loved visiting his family always welcoming us. We still have the silver dollars he gave our children. Bob was such a generous and kind person. He had such a great impact on my life. He will always be in my heart. He came into my life when I needed a father figure. We hope you find comfort knowing all the good he has done in his life and the many lives that were touched by him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Bob and I sat next to one another for years with the Amer. Legion Band. We often talked about our love for music, and I marveled about his dedication even thou he was hurting. I will greatly miss him. My prayers go to his family.

Bob was always in a great mood and loved to play music. l played clarinet with him in Delgado's band prior to Katrina and more recently in the Jeff. Parish Comm. Band and the American Legion Post 175. He always had a big smile and he will be missed. He's joined the band in heaven.

Thanks to Uncle Rob for always welcoming us during impromptu visits, wonderful family pool parties, and fantastic gatherings at the camp. Your love of cooking and entertaining was truly inspirational; and as for music, it has trickled down to our kids. We will miss sharing our delectable holiday goodies, but will always think fondly of you for your hogs head cheese.
Keep the joy going up there in heaven.
Love,
Chuck and Lisa Deshotel-Ingraham
