Marie Elizabeth Rosenow, the youngest daughter of George and Elizabeth Deppisch, was born in Tacoma, Washington on February 15, 1917 and passed away on September 8, 2017 at the age of 100.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Jacob of 64 years of marriage, her daughter Patty Rosenow Derrick, son Jack Rosenow, grandson David Rosenow and two older sisters.
Marie is survived by her youngest son Jerry R. Rosenow and his wife Debbie, daughter-in-law Beverly Rosenow and son-in-law Wilmar A. Derrick. Also surviving are seven granddaughters, 12 great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.
Marie was a devoted wife and a loving, thoughtful mother. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Marie graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1935. She married Jacob later that same year. They started their family in the midst of the Great Depression and struggled through those years as did millions of other Americans.
Marie was a devoted Catholic. She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church for over 60 years. She was a member of the church choir.
She was a strong, outgoing, caring woman who had strong faith and love for all. She helped care for her parents when they were taken ill. She consistently put others in front of herself and supported her greater family in time of need.
Marie retired from the State of Washington Unemployment Division in 1978 after 17 years of service. She loved her work there helping people find employment.
Marie loved to travel, bowl, play cards and share life experiences with her family and friends. Her love of music, singing and dancing blessed us all. Marie and her sister Anne sang on the radio in the 1930's.
She loved cooking and baking. Her pies and rolls were famous!
Marie will be missed by all those that have been blessed to know and love her. Funeral services are being conducted by Powers Funeral Home located at 320 West Pioneer Avenue in Puyallup, Washington and will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 12 noon.

Condolences to the entire Rosenow family. Such a wonderful, wonderful woman that we all enjoyed so much. We were so fortunate to have our mother live at Mill Ridge with Marie. Jerry, your mom was a very special lady who talked so highly of her family. I respected and admired her so much. Thoughts and prayers,
