Joseph A. Thibodeaux, age 87, died at his home in Kenner, Louisiana on September, 12 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Vita Mistretta Thibodeaux; four children, Vicky T. Patania, Linda T. Roig, Thomas A. Thibodeaux and Vita T. Elmer. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abbie Thibodeaux and Elizabeth Grinnage Thibodeaux and his sister, Betty Barre.
Joe was a man who was liked by many and was successful in a variety of occupations. As a young man, he owned a nightclub and later managed the Playboy Club in New Orleans. He finished his career in the oil and gas industry and retired as Vice President of SOLOCO at the age of 79. He was a member of the Krewe of Endymion for over 40 years and resigned as Treasurer. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and traveling. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, Louisiana 70124, on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 NOON until Mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.

I have many fond memories of our friendship back in the '70's oil field days. Joe and family invited us to many family and social activities. Our friendship blossomed from work related to personal social activities. I truly miss him and pray for the comfort of his loved ones.
