Tommy Lloyd Woods, 70, of Collinsville passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2017 in Winston Salem. He was born March 7, 1947 in Rocky Mt. to the late Buren A. Woods and Rita P. Woods.
Tommy served his country proudly in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. He was employed by Dupont until its closing and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dana Y. Woods, one son The Reverend, Doctor, Adam Woods; three sisters, Carolyn Shively (Coy) of Ferrum, VA, Sandra Miller (David) of Wilmington, NC, and Susan Brannock (Dean) of Ridgeway, VA; one brother, Rick Woods (Marilyn) of Dunwoody, GA; two special first cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special family, Shannon Haynes (Darran), Ethan and Teagean.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Reverend Doug Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the home. Interment will be held at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ferrum, Virginia.
