Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2017.

Louis "Brush" P. Agosto of Gates, joined his beloved wife, Vivian, in heaven on September 13, 2017, at age 91. They were married for 42 years. Lou was born on December 13, 1925 in East Rochester. He was predeceased by his eldest son, James and is survived by his children: Gary, Paul, Carole and Louis, his daughters-in-law: Jill and Rosemarie, his grandchildren: Erin and Andrew, and his great grandchildren: Rowan and Daylen. He was predeceased by his sisters, Marie and Connie and is survived by his brothers, Sam and Ralph.

Lou was a proud veteran of World War II and served in Europe where he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, European African Eastern Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. Upon his return home, he met his wife, Vivian, and together they built a wonderful life in Gates. He worked for the State of New York in the Executive Office for the Department of General Services until his retirement in 1987.

Lou was an avid golfer and NY Yankees fan. His love of sports often found him coaching Spencerport Junior Baseball little league which he did for many years. He believed that sports were the way to develop a strong, positive attitude and lead a productive life.
Lou will be deeply missed by his family and friends and always remembered for his love and zest for life!

Some men are easy to talk to and look up to, some are pillars in their community, some are brave and heroic, some are genuine, some are great family men, and some are just great human beings. Mr Agosto was all of these things and more. I will think of him often and always remember his laugh and smile. He was a father figure to me when I needed one. My thoughts and prayers are with the Agosto family.
