Gary Alan Nichols, 49, of Columbia, MO, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, in Columbia, MO.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home. The Memorial service will follow immediately after at 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Gary was born on February 26, 1968 in Mexico, MO to Donnie Lee and Margaret Ann (Newman) Nichols. He graduated from Mexico High School in Mexico, MO and was a 1991 graduate of Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO. He was married on June 29, 1991 to the love of his life, Jane Ellen Dye. Gary worked as a fabricator for Kitchencraft in Columbia, MO.
Gary was a quiet person who showed his love by his actions. He was a wonderful husband and a dedicated father. He had a passion for his two sons that painted a beautiful picture of parenthood. All those who had the opportunity to know Gary were truly blessed.
Gary is survived by his wife Ellen and two sons, Russell and William Nichols of Columbia, MO; his mother, Margaret Nichols; two brothers, Dr. Mike Nichols (Pam) of Columbia, MO and Larry Nichols of Mexico, MO; two nieces, Brandy Taylor and Sarah Gerling; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Judy Dye of Mexico, MO and sister-in-law Susan Jewell. Gary was greeted on the other side of life by his father, Donnie Nichols; sister, Melissa Gerling and nephew, Ross Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, via 1217 Business Loop 70W, Columbia, MO 65202.
