Myrtle A. Wilson, 96, on September 13, 2017, following years of declining health, began spending eternal life with her Savior and Redeemer. She was born on December 6, 1920 in Disputanta (Rockcastle County), Kentucky to the late Elmer and Florence (Lakes) Anglin. Prior to her marriage to Winston B. Wilson in 1941 in Cincinnati, OH, she had attended Eastern Kentucky University. For most of their 59 years together they had lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana where Myrtle had been employed at J. C. Penneys, Sears, and the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple Bookstore. For many years she was the loyal and unselfish caregiver to both of her parents until their deaths. Myrtle was known for her generous heart. The back door was always open, the coffee pot was always on, and there was always room for one more at her table where lively discussions of politics and religion were part of the menu. She loved to share the bounty from her vegetable and flower gardens with friends and family. She believed wholeheartedly that it was more blessed to give than receive. She had a contagious sense of humor, was a voracious reader, an avid people watcher, and she loved to sing and make music with her "WB." In 1992, Myrtle and Winston moved to Murray, KY and fellowshipped at Sugar Creek Baptist Church. In 2001, Winston preceded her in death and in 2004, Myrtle began making her home in Springfield, OH. She was the beloved mother of Linda (Ronald) Kaehr, Springfield, OH and Sharon (Ronald) LeBlanc, Sheridan WY; the cherished grandmother of Dr. James (Kristin) Kaehr, London, OH and Jennifer (Kevin) Taylor, Columbus, OH and the loving great grandmother to Jack Taylor, Jeremiah Kaehr, Lauren Taylor, Zechariah Kaehr and Sophia Taylor, all of whom survive her. She was also the devoted, caring aunt and adoptive mother of Mary Anglin Wagner. In addition she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Anglin (Wilson) Wagner; her six brothers, Harry, William Birch, Edwin, Joel, Jack, and Glen Anglin and by her two sisters, Mary Hilda Buza and Lela Villareal. The family is grateful for the care given to Myrtle by the staff of the Legacy and the Forest Glen Health Center at Forest Glen Health Campus, Springfield, OH. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at Elzey, Patterson, Rodak Funeral Home, Ossian, Indiana, with Rev. Craig Anglin officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. In lieu of flowers, please consider expressions of sympathy be made in her memory to Sugar Creek Baptist Church, 1888 Faxon Road, Murray, KY or to the Gideon's, International.
