Mary Birmingham-Connaughton, 74, of Bartonville, IL, passed away at 9:02 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center. Born on March 15, 1943 in Peoria to John F. and Margaret E. (Barnett) Birmingham, she married James "Swede" Connaughton in Peoria on April 19, 1960.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Daniel.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter Kimberly (Don) Mitchell of Bartonville, one son James of Davenport, IA, grandson Tyler Bradley of Asheville, NC, two sisters Delores (Charles) Hoffman of Ina, IL and Barbara (Larry) Williams of Bartonville, IL, one brother Jerry of Washington, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. She loved working outside in her flower garden (weeds not welcomed).

Honoring Mary's wish, cremation will be accorded and no services will be scheduled. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in care of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 1010 South Louisa, Peoria, IL 61605. On-line condolences and tributes may be made at www.davison-fulton-bartonvillechapel.com.

I am sad to hear of Mary's passing. She was a wonderful person and friend that I had the privilege of knowing 50 plus years. I really missed Mary when I moved away from Peoria to another state. May God be with your family, Mary, and all who knew and loved you.
