Andrew Henry Franzo Sr., age 85, peacefully passed on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at his home in Slidell, Louisiana. Born in Brooklyn, New York was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Henry Franzo, sister, Mae Baldwin, and surviving brother, Richard. He left behind his beloved wife Phyllis Franzo of 65 years, three children Andrew Jr., (Nancy), Richard, (Linda) and Lori Ann, (Patrice), 10 grandchildren with spouses and 17 great grandchildren.
A Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy, deployed on the USS Harry F. Bauer. Andrew first attended Fort Hamilton High School, than continued his education at Long Island University, class of 1960. Andrew loved God, his family, this country and Navy. He enjoyed being with his family, watching the grandchildren grow into happy and successful adults, while also enjoying watching his great grandchildren play. He loved hearing about his family’s accomplishments and always helped in any way he could. Phyllis & Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Andy's passing. You know the two of your were my second family - always keeping an eye on me when mom and dad traveled. You were wonderful neighbors and we always had such fun getting together barbecuing and swimming. May all of the wonderful memories of a liftime together be of some comfort to all of you. God has another angel who will be keeping an eye on his family from above.
Love & Sympathy to you all,
Karen Eckman
