I was both shocked and saddened by the news of John's passing. He will always be remembered by his classmates for his genuine personality, our class president during our junior and senior years, his great dancing abilities, and his enduring friendship since graduation. Although we didn't get to see him often, he always returned for our Oolitic High School class reunions and alumni banquets. Rest in peace, John, you will be greatly missed.

To all the family, Johnny was a good friend to all and very popular in school. I had only communicated with him one time within the past ten years but he still had the sweet personality he had in school. My heart goes out to his family in your loss and I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you all. Love & Hugs

John was a great guy and a good cop. I worked Internal Affairs with him and for a short time in Patrol out of Union Hills 600 district. Even though we didn't want to He and I closed down the cruising at Metro Center by making it NOT fun. I miss guys like John. Honest and Forthright.

John was more "comfortable in his skin" than anyone I've ever known. He made friends every where he went. Starbucks was where for us, two old guys with white hair, beards and motorcycles, living about a mile away...we rode all over Arizona for several years and alternated driving to lunch every week finishing with a dram of IRISH. John was always ready to lend a helping hand or go on a road trip. He accompanied me on several out of state vehicle buy/sell trips as shot-gun, always good to have an ex police along when carrying cash into unknown territory! John was my best friend and I miss him already and will for a long time... (assuming I get one)
