Henry Wilson Barker, Sr., 84, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Oak Grove Manor.
Mr. Barker was born September 2, 1933 in Augusta County, a son of the late Earl W. and Alma (Parr) Barker.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He retired from the former E. I. DuPont Company of Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Barker and a son, David Barker; two brothers, Charles W. Barker and Paul E. "Skeeter" Barker.
Survivors include a son, Henry Barker, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Waynesboro; two daughters, Donna Lee Garber and Debra Shifflett and husband Jeff all of Waynesboro; a sister, Mary E. Henderson and husband, Charles; nine grandchildren, Brian Barker, Chad Garber, Jason Barker, Stephanie Barker, Heather Shifflett, Brandon Barker, Kristi Sharp, April Wright and Tabetha Patterson and eleven great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Augusta Memorial Park with Ronald Strickler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family wishes to thank the employees of Oak Grove Manor and Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving care of Henry.
