Billie Fite of Smithville passed away Monday, September 25th, 2017 at her home surrounded by her adoring family.
Billie was born in Omaha Nebraska on May 29th, 1926 to Paul R. White and Loydale Grimes White. She spent her youngest years in Oklahoma with her parents, grandparents and first cousins, Carolyn and Elaine Colombe, who were the closest things she had to siblings. Her natural creativity made the most possible fun of their modest lives there. Her many talents included sewing, drawing, painting, fashion design and singing; all of which she excelled at. Also, from very early on, she loved animals of all kinds, especially horses.
Billie met the love of her life, Olin C. Fite after moving to Smithville with her parents when she was in high school. Together they created a loving life for their three children and traveled the world as Olin served in the United States Air Force.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents and her husband and her beloved grandson Joseph E. Fite.
Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Olin C. Fite III and his wife Marcia Fite, Paul W. Fite; daughter, Patricia Fite Landry and her husband Gary Landry; grandchildren, Christopher Fite (his companion, Airee Bearpaw, Toby Fite (his companion, Erin Farrelly) all from Oregon, Jennifer Fite Brimberry (her husband, Mark Brimberry) of Pflugerville, Sarah Fite (her companion, Mike Hamley of Austin, Thomas Fite (his wife, Jeanette Fite of Pflugerville, Michael Fite of Austin, Jesse Landry and Travis Landry of Austin. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren, Kiera and Kai Fite, Tehya Fite, Jacob, Lauren, Andrew, and Elizabeth Brimberry, and Calvin Fite and by so many other relatives and lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank the Resolutions Hospice team, April Wolfe and Iris Franke for their Compassionate Care and help during Billie's final months.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:00am to 10:00am of Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home. The Celebration of Billie's life will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home.

Although I never had the honor of meeting Billie Jean Fite, I know she was an amazing mother as she and her husband created one of the most loving,giving and selfless people I know, their daughter, Patty Fite Landry. May the love of your family and friends carry you all through this difficult time.
