Togus – Michael Ledger, 65, of Boynton Beach, Florida and formerly of Sumner passed away peacefully at the Togus Veterans Hospital on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. He succumbed to the disease, ALS which he bravely fought for six years. Michael was born August 28, 1952, the son of Juliette (Deschaine) and Clifton Ledger. He was a graduate of E.L.H.S. in Auburn. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. On August 10, 1990, he married Elena (Lozier) and they had one daughter, Michelle Ledger. He also had two stepdaughters, Audra and Erika Fleury. He was so proud of all three and what they have accomplished. We certainly can't forget Maggie May, (his beloved dog). Mike owned and operated Classic Auto Body in Auburn for many years. He was known for the expert detail he put into the cars he painted. This attention to detail greatly influenced his last career as an insurance adjuster for Horace Mann. His passion was horses and racing. He owned several very special horses that he raced at various tracks in Maine. After retiring from work, he and his wife, Elena, moved to Sumner where he continued his love of horses through caring for the horses which his wife and daughter, Michelle, rode. After being diagnosed with ALS, he and his wife moved to Florida in hopes that the weather would help him deal with his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Elena; daughters, Michelle, Audra and Erika; his sister, Katherine; granddaughters, Olivia and Mya.
He was predeceased by his parents Juliette and Clifton Ledger.

Dear Family,
We are very sad to learn of Mike's passing from ALS. We enjoyed knowing him and boarding his horses. He was a kind person and loved his horses and family. Elena and Michelle were really special for him. Our daughter, Leah, babysat for Michelle as well. We saw Michelle grow up from a baby to a friendly and nice young woman.
Thinking of you often.
Love,
Judy and Rusty D'Amour

I remember my little cousin Mike, who was 4 years younger than me, as a wide eyed happy smiling little boy back in the 50's opening presents with his baby sister Kathy and parents by his side on Christmas morning at Aunt Juliette Routhier's house (where he lived on the second floor) at 70 Tenth Street in New Auburn. He was a good kid attending St. Louis Catholic School, playing PAL baseball. He had a lot of friends. Then he went to Edward Little High School. He got a job at Roland Fortin's Steer House Restaurant on Lisbon Street in Lewiston working as a bus boy but wanted to learn the craft of Auto Body which he later excelled at owning his own business. Thank you for your service Mike and for being my little cousin and friend for all those happy family gatherings with Thanksgiving at your grandparents, Christmas at Aunt Juliette's,and New Years at my house. May God bless you and watch over you in heaven ending your suffering forever. My deep condolences to Elena, who took such good care of him and loved him, and to Mike's daughters and sister Kathy.

I wanted to send my sincere condolences for your loss. It is at times like this that scriptures such as, 2 Chronicles 1: 3-5 bring me comfort. I hope that this and other verses from the Bible bring you peace and comfort.
