Marguerite Dorothy Melzer was born in Baltimore and raised in the monastery parish in Irvington in 1924. She attended the Institute of Notre Dame and graduated in 1941. Afterwards, she went to work in the war related industry. Peggy loved to dance and did so well into her 70's. A few of her favorites were Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey. She was an avid supporter of the Baltimore Colts and always remembered the wooden bleachers at the old stadium; She remembered meeting Johnny Unitas, and Art Donovan. She volunteered at St. Mark's elementary school, and Archbishop Keough; Member of the Sweet Adeline's for 43 years and was voted Sweet Adeline of the year in 1967 by her Catonsville chapter. She always enjoyed the singing engagements but what she liked best was the nursing homes.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Melzer and Grandson Dane Melzer. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Melzer, and by her parents, George J Knarr and Marguerite Knarr (nee Giller).

Dear Donna and Dane,
Jeremy and I have so many great memories of Mom Mom, she will be forever in our hearts.
It saddens me that she is no longer with us and she will be greatly missed. She fought long and hard to stay with her family, and I know she is in heaven continuing her watch over all that loved her.
She is resting in peace, and I know that she is singing and dancing with Bill and the angels!
Love always,
Norine & Jeremy

My condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Melzer. The gallery of photos is a wonderful reminder of the good times you shared with her. Job 33:25 talks about the power God has to return people to their "youthful vigor" so those photos can also serve as a reminder of what Mrs. Melzer will look like again when God takes action in the near future. I hope you can find comfort in reflecting on these thoughts.
