Mrs. Frankie Ovaleen Hobby Brown, age 89, of McDonough, GA passed away September 27, 2017. Granny Hobby better known to her friends and family was born in White, GA the daughter of the late Pearl King Mewborn and Robert S. Mewborn. She was also preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Jesse Hobby; daughter, Cecila Hobby and several siblings.
Granny Hobby enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends, fishing, her flowers, playing the guitar, singing and serving her God in her church. She was a member of Lorraine Pentecostal Church and attended West Sunnyside Congregational Church.
Survivors are her children, Billy and Elaine Hobby of McDonough, Ray and Starla Hobby of McDonough , Terry and Lenola Hobby of Jackson and Vickie and Chuck Tatum of Huntsville, AL; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Rutledge of McDonough and Adess Parrish of Rockmart; several nieces, nephews and other loving family membersThe family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6 – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Smith and Rev. Joe Kerbow officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in McDonough.
