Maria Velocci, 87, passed away on September 27, 2017 in Longwood, Florida. She was born on September 4, 1930 in Monte San Giovanni Campano, Italy to Enrico and Domenica Cinnelli. In 1970 Maria left her native country of Italy to come to the United States; in the early 1980's her family relocated from New York to the Central Florida area.
Maria was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family or in her garden and above all she had a passion for cooking. Maria was a woman of great patience. She went with the flow and always seemed to know how to handle every situation as it arose.
Maria was preceaded in death by her husband Umberto Velocci. She is survived by her daughter Rosina Nieves, her son-in-law Milton Nieves and her granddaughters Paige Lombardi and Sofia Nieves. Maria also leaves behind her extended family through her husband and other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 1:30pm at Annunciation Catholic Church with an entombment to follow at Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Sanford.
