Hey all,
My name is Matt, whoops, Matthew Raymond Flynn, my Mom probably would have wanted me to use my entire name. I was born in Denver, Colorado, on October 11th, 1967, (died September 27, 2017) but I lived most of my formative years in Wheatland, Wyoming (Go Bulldogs!!). Yep, I graduated from Wheatland High School, in 1986. So, if you're reading this, I've probably met my end, but that's ok, I'll be fine, I trust my brothers will throw me a fine Irish wake!! I loved my life, I had a real zest for it; hence my love for riding motorcycles. I had a wonderful daughter, Courtney Danielle, who I referred to as "CDF", she loved me and I loved more than anything spending time with her. I had a very "unique" personality, I never met a stranger, literally everybody was a friend to me. I loved the Denver Broncos, tolerated the Green Bay Packers (inside story), and I absolutely adored the band KISS!! I loved watching sporting events, pro or collegiate. I loved working at Stephen F. Austin University, everybody there I adored and respected (it was a home away from home for me). Nacogdoches was my adopted home, but I never lost touch with my high school posse from Wheatland!! They will be bored without me, I was the requisite entertainment at all social events. I will be survived by my Dad, Ray Flynn, three brothers, Patrick, Christopher and Ryan oodles and oodles of nieces, nephews and cousins, I'll miss you all. So, that's it, have fun everyone and remember, I'll be with you always in spirit (his memorial is on Sunday, the 1st of October, 1-3pm, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, very casual, come and go as you please, Bronco attire encouraged!!).
Peace out!!

Mathew is this you from Art School? I was a roomate of his and he used my Airbrush to make all his painting for his classes and he inspired me to keep going the way I was going and that was to work all the time on my Art and not give up and not do something else but just to stay with what my convictions were and I wanted to be a Sculptor and I am now a professional one. I worked with Walker Hancock I though he told me to stick with this guy and I did for 13 years and he made Stone Mountain and when I was a roomate of Matts he was making illustrations and I was carving stone, modeling clay figures, drawing the nude, making anatomical drawings, painting murals in High School, that was a few years before and now I make portraits, busts and statuary and I could make a head of Matt if someone wanted me to or if I wanted to but I like to remember him as this wonderful guy who inspired me to keep on going as he was and I was a go getter at the start anyway but it was fun to see another one and find out we were roomates he'd also hang out and have fun but I kept on working all the way through and over the weekends night shift and through the morning carving stone and welding, mostly carving stone and here he was trying to buck me up while he was working so hard at his illustrations and if I knew this then I would have called but I had no idea until now, an Angel grabbed my arm and said this then my silverware moved and I looked up Matt and here he is.

Dude. You just rocked your own obituary! I'm certain you were a person to know. I didn't, but I'm sure you blessed those who did. God bless, rest in peace

I only met Matt a couple of times, but he certainly made an impression. As a friend of his brother, and sister-in-law, Chris and Denise for almost 30 years, I would like to express my sincere, and heartfelt sadness to the entire family for their loss. I have, and always will, cherish the time we were all together in New Orleans with Pat, Matt, Chris and Ryan, and how they all made me feel like one of their brother's. I love you guys, and my heart breaks for your loss. Godspeed....

Dear Matty, read your obit and it was THE best, funniest and sweetest I've ever read. I cried and laughed at the same time. You are one of God's angels, He sent you on a special mission, "go and share your joy and laughter with everyone you meet". Mission accomplished. Give your Mom, Tim, David, Steve and Blue hugs and kisses from the Brian Flynns. Today we are with your precious Courtney, Your Dad Ray, Brothers Patrick, Chris, Ryan and your BFF Diane, in spirit. See you in Wheatland. Maybe it will turn out to be one of our special "Flynn Reunions", who knows. Aunt Mary Ann, GO BRONCOS!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. What a dynamic man. May all the memories of him comfort you, and all the prayers from family and friends strengthen you. May God also give you the courage to endure the days ahead (2Thessalonians 2:16,17).

I am so sad to learn of Matt's death. I honestly barely knew him from when he worked at Lasergraphics in the 90s, but that just tells you something right there, that someone you barely knew could make such an impression on you. Truly nice guy and unique individual. A loss to our town, to SFA, to his family and friends. My heartfelt prayers and condolences.

How can you possibly make me laugh when I'm so sad. Reading this, it reminds me of who you are, and why I will celebrate having known you even while the tears roll down my cheeks. You were amazing, and I will cherish your friendship forever. Thank you for being so uniquely you. I wonder if KISS knows they lost their biggest fan and that your stage is now bigger than theirs. Somehow that seems appropriate - you were simply larger than life. xo

Matt was an amazing person. I know that he is up there, insisting that he be the personal guardian angel for the members of KISS.

My condolences for the tragic loss of your loved one. As a fellow motorcyclist, I know all too well the perils of riding on two wheels. I hope you find peace knowing he died enjoying the freedom, the wind in his face and the pleasure only a motorcycle can provide.
