Reyes Vera, 72 years of age of Houston, Texas passed away in his home on Monday, October 2, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 24, 1944 in Taft, Texas to Adela Flores and Reyes Vera, raised by Matias Longoria Sr. He had seven brothers and two sisters. In 1964, he married Eloina A. Yglesias and had five children.
Reyes had a career as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. His interests included hunting, fishing, wood building, gardening and spending time at a family ranch in Beeville, Texas.
Reyes is survived by his beloved wife, Eloina, daughters Erma, (Ciro), Eileen, Emily, Elisa (Clem) and son, Reyes Vera III; 5 grandchildren: Lindsey, Tiffany, Andy, Lucas, Travis; 2 great grand children: Christopher, Angelique.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 8th from 4 pm - 7 pm, Rosary at 5:30 pm at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4535 Bissonnet St. Bellaire, TX 77401. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 9th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5430 W. Ridgecreek, Houston, TX 77053.
