Norma Ann Williams, 80, Born November 26, 1936, died October 7, 2017, at Merit Health Central Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with funeral services to follow in the chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood South Memorial Park.
MS Williams, formerly Norma Browning of Carrollton, MS., was a long time resident of Clinton, MS, a retired High School English and Spanish teacher with Hinds County and Yazoo City Schools. MS Williams was beloved by her students. She was a graduate of J.Z George High School in Carrollton, MS, and earned a BA and M.Ed. in English Literature and Speech from Mississippi College. She loved the Theatre, literature, especially Shakespeare, and all types of music. MS Williams was known for her keen intellect, quick wit, and culinary skills. She was a previous member of First Baptist and Parkway Churches of Clinton, MS. At the time of her death she resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, MS., where she amused the staff daily. Her greatest joy and pride came from caring for her grandchildren, and she delighted in their many accomplishments.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Sue Cassidy of McCarley, MS., former spouse John M. Williams of Jackson, MS; her three daughters, Johnelyn Wilson of Little Rock, AR., Cindy Ringler of Clinton, MS., husband Lance Ringler, Melissa Corry of Olive Branch, MS., husband Michael Corry, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
