Albert Franklin Morris, 88, of Free Union, was called home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2017.
He was born on September 21, 1929, in a cabin in Free Union to the late George Mitchell and Betty Frye Morris. He was preceded in death by his siblings John Ward, Junior Morris, William Morris, Cornelia Frazier, Mary Rogers, Beatrice Wood, and Louise McCauley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita, of 68 years; eight children, Christine and her husband Gene Sandridge, Patsy and her husband Bernard Wyant, Paul and his wife Becky Morris, Glen Morris and Pauline Brown, Jimmy Morris, Pam Miller and her husband Tim Sanford, Kenny Morris, Gary Morris and “That Girl, Daisy”; and, eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen and her husband Harmon Morris and Margaret Kidd; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Albert began working at the sawmill at a very young age, then as a logger before he started his lifelong career as a farmer. Albert loved the outdoors, knew no stranger, was easy to talk to and loved gospel and bluegrass music. He was an outspoken old-timer; what you saw is what you got. Possessions did not matter to him; family and friends did. He lived the true simple life and his love for his wife was one you only ever read about in stories.
The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Free Union Church of the Brethren and their quick response. We will be forever grateful to Jimmy and Kenny for being there day in, and day out for Dad.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, October 13, 2017 at Free Union Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday October 12, 2017 at Teague Funeral Home.

I am sure he's in heaven with the rest of his family. Sawing logs and making hay. He was a great person one of a kind that can't be replaced.
