Ron was the eldest of three sons and cherished his time with his brothers; Lawrence A. Brown and wife Sandra of Honolulu, HI, and Russell Brown and wife Valerie of Laconia, NH. Ron had numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, former colleagues and many former students.
Ron graduated from Wake Field High school, MA, in 1952, served in the US Navy 1955 to 1957, and was a 1961 graduate of University of NH. With a BA in history. His career included being named 1987 Social Studies teacher of the year, as well as teaching in England for a year.
After his 1995 retirement from the Concord School District, Ron continued his community involvements through his many volunteer positions with NH Public Television, NH Public Radio, AARP, Wesley United Methodist Church Choir, and an enthusiastic ten year tenure with the Granite State Ambassador program. Ron loved New Hampshire, books, travel, and walks with Shelby, his four legged pal. He knew something about everything and was a lifelong learner.

My fondest memory of Ron is the year he was a Fullbright exchange teacher in Sharnbrook, England. Our family spent weekends and holidays visiting historic sites, cathedrals, stately homes, castles and exploring the countrysides of England, Scotland and Wales. Ron was particularly pleased that we were invited to dinner at the House of Commons and a reception with the Queen Mother. It was a memorable experience for the whole family.

I was so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He will be greatly missed by his family members, his many friends, and his former students. Not only was I able to learn from him in the Social Studies "office", but I spent many happy days playing golf with him and assorted colleagues from the district. Those were happy summer days with laughter from holes one all the way though hole 18. I send my most sincere condolences to all in Ron's family. Betty Hoadley Concord, NH

Ron was a wonderful brother-in-law with armloads of charm, and we will miss him very much. His dry sense of humor, even keel, warmth and kindness. . . these are what we will remember most.

Mr. Brown was a teacher of mine in the late 80s/early 90s. He was one of the few teachers I deeply respected and he made me laugh. I feel like I came of age in his classroom. Thank you Mr. Brown.

Mr. Brown was a wonderful teacher and always valued discussion. I had the unique and sometimes awkward pleasure of being his student and good friends with Jada. He always made me feel welcome in his classroom and his home--even when I was probably significantly bothersome as I often was in my teen years. He was a kind, insightful and intelligent man who loved his family. My thoughts are with his entire family at this time and in the coming days. May he always be remembered for his kindness.

I remember Ron fondly from our many years at CHS. Always a gentleman who loved his family . He will be missed.

Ron and I had our desks facing each other for any years at CHS. This allowed lots of laughs, jokes, and curriculum planning to flow freely back and forth as we supported each other. Good guy. Sorry to see him go.

Ron and I had our desks across from each other for many years at CHS. Stories, laughs, planning help all flowed feely back and forth. A good guy. A fun guy. Great teacher. Sad to see him go.
