I would like to thank you for sharing your mother with me. My mom died in 1969 and the next mother figure to enter my life was Gerry, she was I women I hired to be the department aide at Ridgewood High school. She was a part of my everyday during the school year. She learned my strengths and my weakness and help me become the man I am today. She taught my about having true friends and being there for others. She was not apart of my family life, she was a daily part of my discussions with my wife and later the boys. She was the women I could talk to about events and problems with and she would get me to think things through first before action was taken. When I started Ridgewood Press, she was looking for another job, because of the empty nest and I employed her as the company debt collector and phone contact person. She stayed with Ridgewood Press when I retired in 2001 I received a call from her in the summer of 2006 and she was in Hilton Head visiting a friend and we meet for lunch and reconnected. We have meet two additional times since and pickup life were we left it. I received a phone call about one month after my Judi's death about visiting her in North Carolina.
She was my mom also.

We all are heartbroken that you left us. Gerry you will be greatly missed by your family, friends & everyone that has met you..
You always had a smile on your face and always made everyone feel welcome. Your heart is huge.. Your smile, enthusiasm, all your artistic & crafty talents, making chocolate candy molds (My favorite was those chocolate sleighs!) I love the way you found mom, when she was in the hospital! You gave so much of yourself to helping me & others.
You always made me smile. I'll miss talking with you. You'll will never be forgotten. My memories of you will always be close to my heart. I miss you, Gerry!
Love You!

I will miss Gerry's smiling face and our "chats" at the front desk when she came to volunteer at Cary Hospital. She spread humor and light wherever she went. She dearly loved her family and I believe that her 80th birthday party was a true blessing. Gerry was loved by many here at WakeMed and she will be missed.
