Margaret Jolley, age 79, of Waxhaw, formerly of North Miami Beach, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 13, 2017. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 24, 1938, daughter of the late Edmund and Margaret Dettmann. Margaret is survived by her son, John Miller and wife Becky; her daughter, Stacey McAdam and husband, Frank; her grandchildren, Starr McAdam, Candice McAdam Hildreth and husband, Randall; Erik Miller and Jenna Miller; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Anne Hildreth; her brothers, Edmund Dettmann and wife MaryAnn and John Dettmann and wife Barbara as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved God, designer handbags, shopping, visiting casinos, and above all else, spending time with her family.
A service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, October 21, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org or to the Shriners Hospital for Children by visiting www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org because of her love of children. So sorry to hear about my cousin Margaret, I have great memories of her when I was young. She was the sweetest person,and I always have a special place in my heart for her. My condolences to all her family and friends.
