Alexander M. Garrett, 22 of Andrews passed away at 11:29 am on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his residence. Alex was a 2013 graduate of Huntington North High School. He had served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia and at Fort Drum in New York as a Specialist Saw Gunner. He loved to go camping, listening to audio books, reading books, riding his Harley and playing video games. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially Chaz and Devin.
Alex was born on April 25, 1995 in Wabash, the son of Max and Christina (Finton) Garrett.
Survivors include his parents: Max and Christina Garrett of Andrews; two brothers: Bryan Garrett and Max Garrett, Jr. both of Andrews; paternal grandmother: Dianne Fife of Wabash; maternal grandmother: Cynthia Smith of North Port, FL; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Max Conliff.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Ray Harris officiating.
Interment will be at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made out to the Garrett Family in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
